Mararikulam City
Kerala is one of the beautiful state in the southern region of India. Kerala is also known as ''GOD'S OWN COUNTRY''. It has been given this particular name of god's own country because it is an extra ordinary land with almost all elements of nature. Kerala is the 100% literate state in India is also famous for tour and tourism.
The literary meaning of Kerala is "the land of coconuts". "Kera" in Malayalam (the language of Kerala) means coconut. As Kerala is abundant with coconut plants, it naturally got the name Kerala. In Kerala, you can find Coconut trees everywhere. The state has such wonderful and magnificent attractions beyond one's imagination.
The village in which i will be taking you all for a rural tourism is the "MARARIKULAM'' village of CHERTHALA city in ALAPUZHA district of Kerala. Though there are thousands of villages in Kerala which is beyond the explanation of beauty and attractive but MARARIKULAM is a village which is well known for one of the very famous beaches of Kerala "THE MARARI BEACH''.
The MARARI BEACH is known for its ''serenity''. A big attraction there is the earth conscious Marari Beach Resort. It's set on a sprawling property filled with coconut groves and lotus ponds, and among other things offers Ayurveda treatments and yoga classes on the beach.
The next Tourist attracting destination in Mararikulam is its famous "SREE MAHADEV TEMPLE'' It is a century old temple. In this powerful temple self originated idols of Sree Parvathi and Sree Parameswara sits face to face. Special pooja's are Swayamvara pooja and Thalicharthu as the goddess is Swayamvara Parvathy and helps to remove the hardles for marriage. Maha Sivarathri, Thiruvathira, Ashtami Rohini, Navarathri etc are the major festivals in this famous temple.
There also exist a very famous church "ARTHUNKAL PALLI''. It is the most important pilgrimage sites in Kerala. It is considered as a holy land by hundreds of thousands of devotees, of Christian as well as other faith.
Coming to the culinary tourism, Mararikulam, due to the beaches, various types of FISHES especially Fried Fish is very much famous. In breakfast it is mostly Puttu-Kadala, Idli, Dosa, Iddiappam with stew. SADHYA is the main course which all the malayalees love to have. It is kind of a ''chhappan bhog'' or ''feast'' u can say. Keralite eat sadhya in a banana leaf as it is a sign of auspicious occasion.
Personally i know so much about this village because firstly, Kerala is my hometown and secondly, Mararikulam is my maternal aunts's hometown and every year when me and my parents visit kerala we surely visit to Mararikulam too. Its one of my favourite places in kerala. Recently Four months ago, in september 2017 i went to kerala and visited mararikulam beach with my family and had lots of fun. Many tourists from different region or country specially come to visit this place.
Even my aunt and uncle who resides here in Mararikulam, have their own business of readymade garment shop which is also very famous amongst the tourists who come to visit the village.
